TALASALITAANG PANG-YUNIT

Particles are often single words whose meaning adds a particular nuance to a sentence.

Daw            indicates indirect discourse.  E.g. I hear(d), I’m told, It is/was  said,      They say/said.
Raw is a variant of Daw.  Raw is used following a vowel-ending word,
Daw following a consonant-ending word.  Sino raw ang nag-anyaya kay Jun?
(Who did they say invited Jun?)  Si Janet daw ang nag-anyaya.  (I heard that Janet invited him)

Nga              indicates emphasis, indeed.

Pala              indicates surprise, realization

Na          means already, in a positive sentence.
In the negative “Hindi na” means not anymore, no longer

Pa          means still,  in a positive sentence.
In the negative, “Hindi pa” – not yet

Din       means too, also, likewise.  The same alternation between d ~ r as in “daw” and “raw.”

Naman  here, it indicates contrast.  E.g. whereas, as for (the other), on the other hand,

Lang               indicates limit -  only, just.  “Lang” is a contraction of “lamang.”

Muna   means “first.” It indicates the first item to occur in a sequence.

Ba             transforms a declarative sentence into an interrogative sentence.  Usually used in a question that may be             answered with a yes or no.

Now, reviewing the Dayalogo, compare the sentences below in Filipino to the English sentences that contain an enclitic and underline the English equivalent of the enclitic/particle.  The first item has been done for you.
