1. You are shopping. You pick out a couple of coats. Ask the salesperson which of the two is a better choice. The salesclerk compares the two coats according to style, color and price.

2. You are buying a shirt for your friend, Martha. Ask the salesperson if they have it in your size. The salesclerk comes back with two selections. Compare them and take your pick.
