14 Productive Components


These 14 Productive Components (same as the Dependent Components from the section Simplification Types) are in simplified form only when in compound characters. Four of these productive components (the four pairs with thick border) must always appear in traditional form when
  1. appearing on the right or at the bottom of a character, or
  2. standing alone as a whole character.
The exercises here include examples in which more than one component in a character undergoes simplification.
